September Vacation

Mark and fam moved to the Chicago area at the end of August so we decided to use some of our vacation time and head east to visit. It was great to meet Harlow for the first time and see their new place. We love their little town and can not wait to visit again!!
Maggie, Jack and HarlowThe Medhurst's are only 5 minutes from Lake Michigan!
We were only in Chi-town for a long weekend and then headed north to visit Nana & Papa and Uncle Dave.

Here's Mags looking out the window on our drive, with Teddy Love and her fav blanket.
On the way up we stopped in Duluth to enjoy Lake Superior and take a break from all the driving.

This is Boulevard Lake in beautiful Thunder Bay, Ontario, CANADA.
We had a little fall picnic there. It briefly started to snow, but we walked around the lake anyway (I think it is 3 miles around). It is so serene there...
Although the crows wanting our picnic were definitely not calming, so Nana and Mags chased the stupid birds away!

Nana, Papa and Maggie Ruth!
This is what you drive beside on the way to/from Rochester from/to Thunder Bay.
I love Lake Superior!!!!!
P.S. The trip also included a visit in Arena, WI where we saw our friends Stephen & Nicki and their 4 boys! (One of which was only 3 months old.) No photos - but we had a great time visiting with them and watching Sawyer and Soren's soccer games.

Pretty in Pink (thanks Grandmama!!)

8 months old!

Happy Birthday, Maggie Ruth!

We love you.

Oxbow Park

We've been spending our weekends "hiking" around Oxbow Park lately. (They have wonderful trails that only take an hour or so to do!) The air has a crispness to it that is my absolute fav! I love the fall and although the leaves are almost all off the trees there is still something about walking around in the woods in October that just can't be beat.

I know that Maggie enjoys the outdoors I just didn't realize how comfortable it makes her!

Yes, that is a little stream down there.

There is a stream that runs along most of the trails. This is one of the 3 bridges.

It really has been warm enough (in the 50s) to wear t-shirts while hiking.
(Although we bundle the Mags up!)

Although Maggie looks fine in this picture of her and I she was so sad (cried for most of the hike) while I carried her. So for the majority of our hikes Peter has carried her so she can see me...

Sweetest thang that I ever did see...

My parents were suppose to be here in a couple of hours, I was baking for Thanksgiving, there were beds to still be made and things to put away and Peter was able to come home earlier than expected and help out! I was in the kitchen baking and didn't hear a thing. No Maggie. No Peter. No beds being made, no things being put away... I decided to make sure everything was okay and this is what I saw out our bedroom door:

Melting my heart.
So precious!

Naturally I had to come out and take more photos.
Here is just one of the many fall photographs of our Mags.

Canadian Thanksgiving

All the Medhurst cousins were able to get together for the first time last weekend and celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving together. It was also Amanda's 6th birthday!! I can not believe that she's six years old already. Time sure is flying by...

Left-Right:
Amanda (6 yrs) - holding Harlow(3 mnths), Allison (3 yrs), Jackson (3 yrs),

Uncle Mark making birds calls by blowing a piece of grass ... pretty funny!

Birthday girl! Wearing her new McDonald's headset.

The Medhurst family showing off their new finds in the great city of Chicago. Apparently you have to dress warm at night in their apartment... Who knew that they sold footed pjs for the whole fam?!
