What's that you say??

Did someone say, "Food?"

After Maggie has sucked on watermelon and apples (the stupid teething biscuits say 9 MONTHS!) I thought it might be time for her to start cereal...

We didn't capture the watermelon at Grandmama's house but here she is sucking on an apple slice (without the peel - we aren't that negligent!!). Last night (not pictured) she started chomping down on it so I bought one of those ugly food net things for children. We'll see if she likes that tonight.

Cereal! I'm trying organic whole grain rice cereal.
But she still prefers her thumb to anything.

A picnic on the North Shore

We met my parents in Duluth, MN for a dinner picnic on Saturday. It was a beautiful morning and afternoon - however, the weather changed during our picnic and when we left the rains did come. It was extremely breezy, but Maggie likes being outside and enjoys the wind (thank goodness!).

The Story of the Bears

My parents started giving us these bears as a Christmas present after we had been trying to have children for a couple of years. It was quite a coincidence that this past Christmas they weren't selling the bears any more and I was pregnant!!!

Hope was our first bear, received Christmas 2004. Here is Hope's new friend Love on Christmas Day in Salt Lake City, Utah, 2005.

Chirstmas of 2006 we received Faith (how ironic is that since I had completely given up any faith I may have once had) and I wondered how many more bears they were going to make...

Definitely a special part to Maggie's nursery. The baby that we have been wanting for so many years is finally here... with her own room!!!!

The Nursery

The nursery is pretty much finished, now that we have a rocker, and some have asked for photos to see what it looks like. Here they are:

9 years ago today...

On a rainy Friday afternoon Peter Warren Bailey and Kelly Lynn Medhurst tied the knot in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, CANADA!! We had the best time - even though it rained. Here are a couple of shots from that day. (It's a picture of a picture so if they are a little fuzzy I apologize.)

New Trick

Maggie has been enjoying this Rainforest Jumperoo from Peter's co-workers since we returned to Roch. She has learned though that when she sucks her thumb and turns her head to the side we will come and pick her up. (At first we just thought that she was tired and needed a nap...) It's totally adorable and very brilliant. Definitely has us wrapped around her little finger, but we don't mind :)

Grand River Bluffs

We hiked around at the Grand River Bluffs yesterday (a Minnesota state park). Maggie Ruth absolutely loves being outside and takes it all in, looking at everything possible!! We looked at the black diamond trails and opted to do the greens and blues. Perhaps next time we'll be up for that adventure. The views were fantastic but the misquitos had quite the feast on us. Good thing we didn't end up camping here this weekend, we would have been eaten alive!!

Finally in my crib!

After months of being in the bassinette and then the pack n' play Maggie is finally in her crib. She does love it. I wanted her to get used to it so I put her in it thinking we would play around. She immediately rolled over, scooted around and then fell asleep!

Maggie discovered her feet last week and finally figured out that they can go into her mouth. It seems like everything goes in her mouth - along with her thumb. She's too cute!

First Trip To CANADA!!! (aka. the best country in the world)

When we got home from Jacksonville Peter had an interview in Los Angeles. So Maggie and I headed up north for the week. She definitely loves the outdoors and didn't even flinch when I dipped her toes in the freezing Lake Superior!!

Maggie and I stopped on our drive home to enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior. It was so nice to have a cool breeze and it be 80 degrees out. Quite a change from the heat of Florida.
